Level I, II, and III Certification in Emotional Intelligence
The Emotional Intelligence Society Australia (EISA) offers a three-tier certification program in Emotional Intelligence (EI).
- Level I Foundations of Emotional Intelligence: a fully online, 8-hour course that covers EI fundamentals.
- Level II Advanced Emotional Intelligence: an intensive two-day, face-to-face workshop featuring pre-workshop tasks, interactive discussions, and a focus on applying the Ability Model of EI to real-world scenarios such as leadership, teamwork, and organisational culture.
- Level III Specialist Program: a one-year program where you will work one-on-one with an EI mentor to integrate EI deeply into your work.
All EISA certification courses are based on contemporary evidence and offer practical strategies. All courses are approved by the International Society of Emotional Intelligence and tailored specifically for the Australian context.
You will receive a Certificate of Completion for all courses.
Level I Foundations of Emotional Intelligence
This self-paced online 8-hour course is designed to fit into your busy schedule. The modules cover the origins and definitions of EI, practical skills for developing emotional awareness, models of emotional intelligence, exploring how emotions and moods shape our daily interactions, and investigating contemporary EI trends. Level I Modules include:
- emotional intelligence: definitions, history, and importance
- emotions and mood
- models of emotional intelligence
- measuring emotional intelligence
- developing emotional intelligence abilities and skills
- contemporary issues in EI
Cost: $140 and includes a 12-month membership to the Emotional Intelligence Society of Australia.

Level II Advanced Emotional Intelligence
You must complete the Level I course to participate in Level II.
Continue your EI journey and elevate your emotional intelligence skills. EISA’s Level II Advanced course is a two-day, face-to-face workshop that builds on the foundational insights from Level I. You will analyse your EI results from the MSCEIT assessment and receive your own customised 20-page report where you will explore your EI strengths and growth areas. The course then focuses on EI and leadership, teamwork, and organisational culture and applies the Ability Model of Emotional Intelligence to workplace scenarios. You will develop a personalised plan for continuous EI growth.
Level III Specialist Program
Our Level III Emotional Intelligence Specialist Program is a transformative, one-year certification journey designed for professionals ready to lead with emotional intelligence in their fields. For the 12 months, you will be partnered with an EI mentor who is an expert in EI.
Building on the foundational and advanced skills developed in Levels I and II, this program offers an intensive, customised approach to deepening EI expertise. You’ll receive hands-on guidance tailored to your specific discipline, interests, and professional goals through monthly Zoom sessions, one-on-one mentorship, and collaborative projects. You’ll engage in customised readings, written analyses, and a capstone project, all crafted to align with your professional needs, from workplace integration to leadership development. NB: These courses do not certify participants for formal administration of the MSCEIT, EQi or ECI, as formal training for these instruments must be obtained through the respective authors/publisher.
